Lennon MacLorg’s arrival at Gillingham as the club’s seventh summer signing is a real feel-good moment, with the former Charlton Athletic goalkeeper arriving at Priestfield to sign for the club he has supported all his life. That’s right, MacLorg really is one of our own.
MacLorg’s signing is part of Gillingham boss Gareth Ainsworth’s approach of having one established number-one goalkeeper, with two talented young prospects backing him up. MacLorg’s arrival will see him join Taite Holtam in support of new season-long loan signing Ollie Wright, who is expected to take the number-one jersey for the 2026/27 season.
