If you’re looking for early signs of commitment from Gillingham’s latest signing, look no further than his journey to ME7.

Motherwell’s Fir Park and Gillingham’s Priestfield Stadium are separated by 432 miles, a formidable road trip that few would sensibly take on in one chunk. But that’s the trip Liam Gordon made to sign for Gillingham this week.

After a gruelling journey through the night to get from North Lanarkshire to the Medway Towns, Gordon arrived at Priestfield to put pen to paper on a two-year contract. And, despite his exhausting trip, Gordon said the long journey south was well worth it as he became the club’s fourth signing of the summer.
