Gillingham manager Gareth Ainsworth challenged his young players to bounce back, and his experienced players to step up as he reflected on a bad day at the office against York City.
Gillingham conceded in the second minute, and were lucky to only go in at half-time only one goal down. But injuries to two key players, plus the dismissal of another, compounded matters as the Gills eventually conceded twice more late on to lose 3-0 at the LNER Community Stadium.
"I've lost three really important players there in that game, and when that happens, it's really tough," Ainsworth told Gills TV after the match.
