Gillingham's stand-in skipper Omar Beckles said Gillingham are still a "work-in-progress" as they come together as a squad, and explained how their 3-0 away defeat at York City is just the latest step in their development as they look to build themselves into a challenger in League Two.
Beckles and his Gills teammates endured a bad day at the office as they were well beaten by York, who ran out 3-0 winners in a game where the hosts could have won by even more. But, having endured their worst game of the season so far, Beckles said it's important the team uses the match as a learning moment, and a chance to improve ahead of a busy month of fixtures in October.
