Elliott Nevitt has himself a new club, as he returns north in search of a fresh start.

Nevitt has signed a two-year deal with League Two side Oldham Athletic, where he’ll team up with boss Micky Mellon.

Mellon plucked Nevitt from non-league football to sign for Tranmere Rovers, and he rewarded the then-Rovers boss with 14 goals in 73 appearances across all competitions before eventually moving to Crewe Alexandra, where his form saw him attract the attention of the Gills.

Nevitt moved south to join Gillingham for the 2024/25 campaign, but despite his industry and willingness to chase lost causes, things just didn’t work out for the Liverpudlian in front of goal. After eight goals in 61 appearances in all competitions, Nev was loaned out to Cambridge United, who went on to earn promotion to League One.
