Gillingham have dipped into the transfer market again, and have unearthed another emerging young talent to join the club's defensive ranks.
Former Southampton defender Sam Tabares recently departed St. Mary's, and was quickly snapped up by the club, who have identified the 19-year-old's pace, strength and athleticism as ideal traits to potentially fill a spot on the right side of the side's defence.
Tabares can operate across a number of positions, including right back, right wing back and as a right-sided centre half, making him a valuable, and adaptable signing to plug into boss Gareth Ainsworth's more stripped-down first-team squad for the coming campaign.
