This morning, Gillingham FC officially announced their sixth summer signing with the arrival of goalkeeper Ollie Wright on a season-long loan from Championship club Southampton.

The 23-year-old, who has been with the Saints since signing youth forms with the South Coast club back in 2012, has spent the majority of his senior career out on loan picking up valuable first-team experience.

Southampton have managed his progression smartly, with Wright's first two loan spells seeing him pick up first-team football in at National League South level with Bath City and Worthing. Then he moved up a level to the National League for stints with Yeovil Town and Solihull Moors.
