After the fun and games that came along with the club’s three kit reveals, business has quickly turned to the important matter of improving the team on the pitch, with the club’s first signing of the summer officially unveiled as James Brophy.

The 31-year-old arrives at the club following his release by promotion-winning Cambridge United, and brings a wealth of experience at this level.

After spending the first three years of his career in non-league football, Brophy joined Swindon Town in 2015 and spent three years at the club, making 73 appearances. A short loan spell at Leyton Orient towards the end of that run eventually opened the door for a move to the London side, and he spent two and a half years there before turning down a new deal to join Cambridge.
