Gillingham captain Liam Gordon has provided an update on his recovery from his opening-day knee injury, and it will be music to the ears of Gills fans.
When Gordon went down injured 25 minutes into the season opener against Walsall at Priestfield, it didn’t look good for the former Motherwell centre-back, who was making his debut after being named club captain.
Gordon went up for a header and got a bump while in mid-air. It meant he landed awkwardly, with his right knee locking straight on landing, before falling to the turf in clear agony. After a lengthy spell of on-field treatment, he was carefully helped off the field, and was later seen sitting in the Brian Moore Stand with his knee in a brace.
