The one two header

After a difficult run that saw Gillingham pick up just one point from a possible nine, Gillingham bounced back with a hard-earned 2-1 away win at Shrewsbury Town on Matchday 14.

Gareth Ainsworth brought Harry Waldock back into the starting lineup, and was rewarded after just three minutes when the 19-year-old midfielder finished off a great team move to put the Gills 1-0 up.

A soft award of a penalty gave the Shrews the chance to equalise, but after having to defend stoutly during the final 20 minutes of the game, Gillingham found a winner through an unexpected source, as defender Andy Smith finished from close range after substitute Bradley Dack hit the crossbar.
