Back in the late-1990s, the Rainham End had a catchy ditty for striker Carl Asaba.

Sung to the tune of Dean Martin classic "That's Amore," the fans serenaded the Gills hitman with "When the ball hits the goal it's not Shearer or Cole, that's Asaba!"

Asaba made 81 appearances for the Gills, scoring 38 goals as he formed arguably the best strike partnership in Gillingham FC history with fellow legend, Robert "Super Bob" Taylor.

In the 1998-99 season, Asaba and Taylor combined for 36 goals in the Second Division (now League One), with Asaba hitting 20 in 41 games for the Gills in his best season in a Gills shirt.
