Gillingham goalkeeper Ollie Wright said the team showed their determination to rebound following their 3-0 away defeat at York City last weekend as they drew 0-0 with Newport County at Priestfield.

The Gills’ heavy defeat on the road on Matchday 8 saw them suffer only their second defeat of the League Two season, but it was also their second three-goal loss.

Speaking to Gills TV after the match, Wright explained that it was important to Wright and his teammates that they responded accordingly, and while there was some disappointment that they couldn’t bounce back with a win, there was some satisfaction at having stopped the rot in their first game back after that defeat at York.
