Gillingham winning away at Rochdale was cause enough for celebration. To do it by scoring four is even moreso. But the cherry on top of the cake at Spotland on Saturday was the team's fourth goal.
James Brophy book-ended Gillingham's scoring on the day, netting the Gills' first and last goals of the game, both with stunning strikes. But it was Brophy's second that had Gillingham's fans open-mouthed in amazement, and the goal shared across the internet by not just Gillingham's own official club accounts, but also by the EFL themselves.
When Brophy took up possession inside the Rochdale half, Gillingham had already strung a succession of passes together, with the travelling army from Kent chanting "Olé!" with each completed pass. But when Brophy received the ball and started running, the Gills fans had no idea what was about to unfold.
