The start of Gillingham’s 2026/27 campaign was plagued with injuries to a host of the club’s top stars. But there’s some light at the end of the tunnel, with players finally starting to return to fitness once again.

Chatting to Gills TV ahead of his side’s away trip to Accrington Stanley on Matchday 11, Gills boss Gareth Ainsworth provided a quickfire update on his injured stars, each of whom are making progress, with the timeline for some moving along faster than others.

Kadeem Harris, Liam Gordon, and Zech Obiero all picked up injuries that forced them out of action for lengthy spells, but while Harris’ ACL injury could end up ruling him out for the season, there was better news on club captain Gordon, as Ainsworth explained.
