Gillingham received a hammer blow mid-way through the first half of their opening-day clash with Walsall as they saw first Armani Little, then Liam Gordon, forced off through injury, as they joined the likes of goalkeeper Ollie Wright and winger Sheldon Kendall on the Gills' early-season injury list.
Gordon's injury in particular was cause for major concern, as the big centre-back landed awkwardly after an aerial challenge and was helped off the field by two members of the physio team. The newly-appointed club captain was later spotted sitting in the Brian Moore Stand wearing a knee brace.
