More injury woe for Gillingham FC as Kadeem Harris ruled out for 'lengthy spell'

Gillingham's apparent injury curse just got worse with the news that Kadeem Harris has been ruled out for an extended period after injuring his knee against Fleetwood Town.
Harris ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament with 20 minutes to go in Gillingham's 0-0 draw at Highbury Stadium, when he twisted his knee after the turf under his feet gave way.
Harris was stretchered off, clearly emotional, with fans worried that the team had been struck with another lengthy player absence.
Those concerns were confirmed on Monday night when the club posted a short statement to social media and their official website clarifying Harris' injury.
"Kadeem was one of our star signings in the summer window so to now be without of a player of his calibre, quality and professionalism is a huge loss to the group," said Gillingham manager Gareth Ainsworth.
The club can confirm that Kadeem Harris will spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines after rupturing his ACL at Fleetwood Town on Saturday afternoon.

"He will be sorely missed during this time but we wish him a full and speedy recovery and I have no doubt he will come back an even stronger character than he already is.
"Our thoughts are with him, and our medical staff will continue to monitor his situation to ensure he recovers properly."
